PRoTECT stands for Protecting public spaces against terrorist threats. The official English title is Public Resilience using Technology to Counter Terrorism. This project ‘teaches’ cities to effectively increase security in public spaces before, during and after a terrorist threat. This is done with the help of technology, tools, training and demonstrations. This enables cities to better assess the nature of a situation (situational awareness), enabling the police and emergency services to be deployed more effectively. PRoTECT is an initiative of the European Network of Law Enforcement Technology Services (ENLETS) that is being realised in close collaboration with, and under the leadership of, DITSS.

European Commission, DG Home, ISFP PROTECT program. DITSS is overall coordinator and project manager of this project.
